For a concise update, I would like to begin by saying that I completed year 12 last year and am now moving on into university.
I got accepted into RMIT University with fellow deviant *chewy14. Him and I are both super excited to start our Bachelor of Arts Degree, studying photography. The course is designed for "photographers of the highest caliber" as they constantly repeat that statement.
Due to the high demand of student input for this course, they require us to have the best equipment.
I've always been saying the 1Ds will be my next camera, but now I'm not sure anymore.
So let's get to business.
5D MkII
Full frame
$4200 - New
Professional high-end camera
Movie mode
21mp
Looks cool, but not as cool as the 1Ds haha
Huge ISO range
1Ds MkII
Full Frame
$4000-$4500 - Second Hand
Professional flagship camera
No movie mode
17mp
Looks cool
No so huge ISO range
There are a lot of things that I lookout for in cameras, so my list goes a lot deeper. This was to outline some of the main things I noticed .
The 5D2 being newer, tends to have newer technology so that's the plus there, however the 1Ds still retains its professional characteristics.
It's a tough choice, but if anyone could assist with some reviews on either camera, please leave comment.
Don't say, "Oh dude the xxxx camera is so fucking cool". Just give me reasons stating the upsides, and if you see any down sides, give me a shout!
Also (I nearly forgot to ask)...
MacBook Pros. I've been using Macs since the coloured G3's and oh boy I still love them. Again for uni, I will need a new laptop.
Windows sucks, Linux isn't my thing, so that leaves OSX, thus MacBook Pro.
The cheapest 15" is like $3,200 or something, and for those extra $800 I can get a much better 15" model with more RAM, and better GPU, both of which will be handy for the uni course.
Now here's the worst part. If I'm already spending $4000 on the MacBook Pro 15", I might as well go for the 17" for an extra $500, which brings teh total to $4500, not to mention a graphics tablet and software as a further addition.
I've weighed out the stats, and think the the $4000 MacBook Pro is best, for its size, and specs.
Then I can always get the Apple LED cinema display to enhance my screen resolution.
Let me know what you would do, I just need opinions...
To conclude the journal, I'll be uploading photos from Behind Crimson Eyes, Alter Bridge, POD and Disturbed concerts soon.
I should have more stuff too, a lot has happened since my last upload haha...

Art is a form of self expression and its relative.
No one should judge if its beautiful or not.
